Practice Areas Regulatory and Compliance Specialty Lines Claims Insurance Consulting |
Danielle L. Harrison From an early age, Danielle Harrison was drawn to the law. Even as a young girl, she loved problem-solving and had a knack for looking at things from all sides. "Practicing law is a lot like solving a Rubik's Cube," said Harrison. "You can't just make one side look pretty without understanding how each move might affect the other sides." Following her graduation from The State University of New York with a B.A. in political science, Danielle returned to her hometown of Lockport, Illinois. She worked as an office manager with a mid-size transportation and warehousing company, quickly learning and then guiding the accounting, billing and employee benefit sides of the business, while attending Roosevelt University to earn her paralegal certificate. Danielle then joined a downtown law firm as a paralegal, concentrating in commercial litigation. It was during her tenure as a paralegal and simultaneous studies as a law student at The John Marshall Law School that a presentation from one of her firm's partners and head of the firm's regulatory practice, Carrie Cope, would open the door to an area of law that would soon become her passion. Today, Danielle plays an integral role as part of Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's Regulatory and Compliance and Specialty Lines Claims practices, headed by her Regulatory mentor, Carrie Cope. The team represents insurers, agents, brokers, reinsurers, reinsurance intermediaries, alternative risk insurance groups and third party administrators. Danielle concentrates her practice on insurance regulation and specialty lines insurance, including directors' and officers' liability, employment practices' liability, professional liability, fidelity, fiduciary liability, excess lines and trade credit. She also has considerable experience in product review and endorsement drafting, rate and form filing issues and a wide variety of compliance issues including company licensing and redomestication. Danielle's ability to resolve conflicts by looking at and analyzing the issue from all sides of the Rubik's Cube, coupled with her calm and even-tempered disposition and in-depth knowledge of state-specific complex rate filing guidelines, make her an invaluable member of the firm's Regulatory team. |
