Keith Mandell is a highly sought after attorney now in his second decade of insurance law practice. Keith focuses on insurance coverage work, primarily professional lines policies, including directors and officers and errors and omissions policies, as well as employment practices liability policies. "Insurance coverage work," explains Keith, "offers a unique opportunity. An attorney must become thoroughly knowledgeable on a wide variety of insurance policies (e.g., D&O, E&O and EPL), and also skilled in analyzing a wide range of underlying litigation (e.g., securities litigation, employment litigation, etc.). This variety keeps the law fascinating and challenging while expanding my level of expertise and my value to my clients and my firm." With almost two decades of internet knowledge and experience, Keith is also focusing on insurance claims related to cyber-technology and online social media.
Coming to Schuyler, Roche & Crisham from an all-purpose law firm, Keith has experience in a wide variety of legal matters. He litigated cases involving insurance coverage, employment discrimination, contractual matters and securities litigation. Keith also arbitrated in the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program and assisted non-profits in incorporation issues. From this wide-ranging experience, Keith is an accomplished attorney well-suited to effectively handle a variety of case matters.
Keith is not afraid of a challenge. As a 23-year-old graduate student, Keith ran for mayor of Columbia, Missouri (the state's fifth largest city). While some candidates spent over $30,000, Keith ran on a shoe-string budget, funded by his own $100 and $25 from his 84-year-old great aunt. Keith's enthusiastic effort gained campaign volunteers and support, propelling him ahead of another contender. While another candidate won, Keith's candidacy highlighted his willingness to take on challenges and his lifelong commitment to public service. Keith combined his interests in government and cyber-technology in 2008, when he led a grassroots political campaign in the online virtual world Second Life.
Keith is excited to embark on this new chapter in his legal career with Schuyler, Roche & Crisham. He sees it as the perfect fit for him, large enough to have the resources of a large law firm, but small enough to maintain the personal touch he relishes with clients and colleagues alike.
