Practice Areas Commodity Futures |
Neal R. Stevens Neal Stevens brings an impressive business and legal background to the growing Commodity Futures practice group at Schuyler, Roche & Crisham. His controversy and transactional experience are products of a successful early chapter in Neal's legal career with two New York law firms. Neal also founded and became the principal of his own registered commodity trading advisor and commodity pool operator, Ancile Capital Management, LLC, which he continues to manage today. Running a commodity trading advisor greatly enhanced Neal's appreciation for and understanding of the statutory, regulatory and transactional aspects of the commodities industry. He became well versed in the procedural and disclosure demands of establishing commodity pools and investment funds. He also understands, as an industry insider, how to efficiently and effectively work with regulators, set up private equity funds, prepare audits and manage the registration process for companies wishing to trade commodities for their clients. Knowledge of the highly regulated commodities field requires an in-depth understanding of public laws and policies. Neal understands the most subtle nuances of crucial laws like the Commodity Exchange Act and advises clients in detail on what the law means and requires. He is equally comfortable working with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, an independent agency with the mandate to regulate commodity futures and option markets in the United States, and the National Futures Association, a self-regulatory organization for the U.S. Futures Industry. If you're facing an NFA audit, you'll want the level of legal counsel Neal can provide. As a member of Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's strong commodity futures practice, Neal counsels brokers and floor traders and is sought-after by small and large companies alike. With a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, a Master of Law degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and a business and legal background that has provided a thorough understanding of all sides of commodities management, Neal is well-suited to the intellectual challenges of this complex and rapidly growing industry. Today, commodities are viewed as a strong and evolving asset class, one in which many managers are beginning to invest. If you are looking for a smart, personable and detail-oriented attorney who is highly skilled at serving clients in the Commodity Futures field, give Neal a call. |
