Jean M. Prendergast is a partner at Crisham & Kubes, Ltd. Her practice is devoted to civil litigation and appeals. Ms. Prendergast successfully has represented clients in complex litigation matters involving claims for professional liability, class actions, consumer finance, fraud and corporate oppression.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Prendergast served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Justice Mary Ann McMorrow of the Illinois Supreme Court and for Justice Mary Jane Theis of the Illinois Appellate Court. She also has taught Appellate Advocacy at Loyola University School of Law. Ms. Prendergast recently was selected as one of the 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch.

Ms. Prendergast graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, from Loyola University of Chicago.

Ms. Prendergast is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. She also is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.

Ms. Prendergast currently is the Treasurer of the Appellate Lawyer's Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Women's Bar Foundation. She served on the Board of Directors of the ALA from 2000 to 2002. She also currently serves on the Illinois Supreme Court's Committee on Character and Fitness. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois (2002 - 2003) and as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association's Special Committee on Appellate Practice. Currently, Ms. Prendergast is a co-author of Illinois Supreme Court Cases Pending, which is published by the Appellate Lawyer's Association five times each year.

In additional to professional and business affiliations, Ms. Prendergast has participated in a variety of service activities, including serving as a volunteer attorney for the National Center for Immigrant Justice.
