Recently in First Bank v. 3COM, Jeff Kubes, Jean Prendergast and Tom Mulcahy successfully defended an architect from allegations of negligent misrepresentation arising from the sale of a large commercial property. In affirming the circuit court's order granting summary judgment in favor of the architect, the appellate court agreed that the purchaser could not establish justifiable reliance upon the information that the architect originally provided for the benefit of the property's seller. 1-06-0091 (1st Dist. June 29, 2007). To view the unpublished Supreme Court Rule 23 order, click here. |
